Epiphany – the most beautiful and yet cruel journey of understanding that we possess. An epiphany shows us truth; it helps us to understand everything in just the short time that it takes to envelop us and then pass straight through us. The beauty of our realisation brings us to tears so peaceful and deep that we feel as though we are lifted from the world, from everything people tell us and everything we have believed.

In the moment of our epiphany, we know truth the way it should only be known by the wind and the trees and the ocean. We are everything and we are more ourselves than ever. And then, it is all gone… With our almost out of body experience, with our knowing heart believing in life and everything it offers, it disappears in but a second. And as we try grab onto what we just had, the moment is out of reach, it has fluttered into the breeze and waves goodbye to us as the noise, chaos and confusion of the world starts to creep back into us once again. We long for the all encompassing quiet to come back to us, we long to feel that light and be protected by the cocoon of our magical understanding.  

While we try and remember and think about what this epiphany meant and how we can bring whatever we understood into that moment, into our lives and shape ourselves with it, it is never quite the same. But at the same time, we are never quite the same, purely because we cannot erase the epiphany that transformed us for a moment, because in fact it has transformed forever. The fact that it altered everything for a moment, and forced its way to the forefront of our heart, mind and soul was purely so that the epiphany would be so intense that it would be impossible for us not to notice. Too many things go unnoticed in this world and an epiphany, so profound, cannot take that chance. Something that filled every part of us for even the briefest time, never truly goes away, it is inside us, it is part of our skin and our lips and our words, hidden is the secrets, hidden between lines and sentences and hope. Hidden, but always there. Forever with us, guiding us and gently whispering to us so that we will stop and notice what it says to us every day, and if we are open enough; if we succumb to the sounds and the whispers and the touches of the universe, it will show its face to us again, so bold and full, but only for a moment. And once the taste is gone, and our eyes cannot find it anymore, we live for the next epiphany, for the next time we can feel truly whole and a part of everything.
